EDDY VERN EDWARD WILLIAM GEORGE SMITH (POLLOK) September 25, 1992 June 14, 2008 Tragically on June 14, 2008 our beloved youngest son, Eddy was taken away from us. He was born on September 25, 1992. Eddy will be lovingly missed by Dad, Bob and Mom, Marleen Pollok; brothers, Rob (Mia) and Lee (Heather); sisters, Mary, Brenda and Katrina; grandmother Laura Swan; aunt Linda Haines; uncles, Albert (Pat), Louie (Brenda) and Bill; cousins, Billy, Stacey, Brittney and Emily; nephew Gage; niece Gwen; and many many friends. Eddy was both raised and educated in Winnipeg, he attended TecVoc High School and recently was learning the roofing trade. Eddy was our resident jokester, he enjoyed making each and every one of us a subject of his movie making and kept us all in stitches (laughing that is). Not only did he enjoy making movies he loved to watch them. He loved to play his video games and Guitar Hero. Eddy was very much musically inclined and enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his skills on the drums and keyboard. Eddy often amazed us with his computer skills. He was so good at it that he often changed codes and passwords that would keep his Dad and sisters off of it. Never a dull moment with Eddy in the house. But Eddy's biggest love of all was fishing, it didn't matter when or where, he was up for it. His favourite fishin' holes were the Gimli pier and Lockport. Along with his family there are many friends that will remember Eddy, the kind, generous and loving boy. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2528 King Edward St., Winnipeg, MB. With a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Pallbearers will be his cousin Bill Haines and special friends, Tyler Bombay, Priscilla Trimble, Cory and Kyle Parisian, Jessie Fitch and Aron Perrie. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Youth Group, Box 1 Group 258, R.R. 2, Winnipeg, MB R3E 2E6. If tears could build a stairway, and memories were a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven, and bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches in sadness, and secret tears still flow, What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know! - author unknown - Vern Eddy Smith was blessed with having two families that loved him. Eddy's mother that gave him life was Shirley Anne Menow of Peguis First Nation and father Vern Edward Nelson. Eddy was also predeceased by older brother Bruce Smith in 2007. Eddy also leaves behind four older siblings; William Anderson, John Menow, Steven Smith and Anne Bosnic and uncles Sam Smith and Peter Smith. Arrangement Entrusted To Ashern, Manitoba 1-866-293-4951
