KAREN JENNY WOODBECK It is with great sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Karen Jenny Woodbeck (nee Veldhuis) on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the age of 47 years. Karen was born June 1, 1961 in Atikokan, Ontario. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her two sons, Joshua and Caleb, ex-husband Patrick, her father Fred Veldhuis, brothers Rick and Allen (Tiina), niece Kyla, nephews Devon and Aidan, Uncles Carl (Darlene), Verghl and John, aunts Esther and Jenny. Karen will also be sadly missed by friends Glen, Rev. Margaret, Susan, Doug and numerous others. Karen is predeceased by her mother Marilyn Labine, grandparents John and Eva Veldhuis and Gil and Leona Torgerson. Karen's greatest joy in life was the time that she spent with her sons, she loved to laugh with them and truly showed her crazy sense of humour time and again. She was a good friend, who always had an ear to listen, even during her own struggles. She was a firm believer in the power of love and many times showed a remarkable perspective on life. Karen will be greatly missed by all those, whose lives she touched. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Karen will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at Anishinabe-Place of Hope, 415 Logan Avenue at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Winnipeg Inner City Missions, Box 2444 Station Main, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C4A7, Re: Karen Woodbeck.
