Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILHELMINE (WILMA) UNGER (nee STADLER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilma Unger on June 18, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 83. Wilma is lovingly remembered by her husband John H. Unger; daughter Elfie (Larry and son Sean); grandsons Jeremy and Chesley (Kristy) Ranson. She was predeceased by her parents Andreas and Katharina (Dyck) Stadler and her brother, Alfred Stadler. Wilma will also be greatly missed by her close extended family and friends in North America, Austria and Germany. Wilma was born in Weiz, Austria August 15, 1924. In May, 1954 she arrived in Canada. Wilma worked on her grandmother's farm in Dencross, Manitoba where she met the man she would marry and enjoy 51 years of love, happiness and fulfillment. John and Wilma bought their first home in Elmwood where they raised their daughter Elfie. Wilma enjoyed her summers at Grand Beach with family and friends and was particularly fond of family vacations both in Canada and abroad. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting for her family. Wilma ended her working career to help care for her two precious grandsons. Family was everything to Wilma, this was displayed in her untiring, selfless devotion to them. Along with her strength, integrity and pride she had a wonderful sense of humor. Wilma, or Oma as she was known to many of us, was the heart of our family and she will be deeply missed. We are gathering to celebrate Wilma's life on June 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on E5 at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Canadian Liver Foundation, Manitoba Chapter.
