Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATHILDE REDEKOP December 8, 1918 - June 17, 2008 With deep sorrow, but great relief for her sake, we announce that Mathilde Redekop passed away in her sleep at Concordia Hospital where she spent the last ten weeks of her life. Mathilde was born in Blumengart, Ukraine. In 1948 she came to Canada, where she found a peaceful refuge. Her life was difficult, but she worked hard and took great pleasure in her family, her friends and the garden she cultivated with such passion. Mathilde was predeceased by her beloved and never-forgotten husband Nikolaus in 1945; her parents Johann and Katharina Peters; brother Hans; and sisters Katja, Maria and Lydia. Left to remember her are daughter Heidi; sisters Erna and Ina; nieces Kay and Elinor; nephews John, Ernst, Val and Erich and their spouses. Her grandpuppy , TerraNova, will also miss her dearly. A funeral service for Mathilde Redekop will be held at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. on Monday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one half hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Mathilde's memory may be made to The Parkinson's Society, 171 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB.
