Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS BIGGS (nee LIPTROT) July 18, 1920 June 17, 2008 With great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Gladys Biggs at West Park Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years. Gladys was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond of 62 years, her son Robert, her parents Robert and Lily Liptrot, her brothers Eric and Robert and her sister Joyce (LaMonica). Left to cherish her memory are her son Douglas (Sally), daughter-in-law Darlene, sister Violet (Morell), grandchildren, Kenneth, Paul, Christopher (Dayna), Jennifer (Calvin), Jerett (Candace) and Bradley and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Gladys was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England and immigrated to Canada with her family as a young child. She spent the remainder of her life in Winnipeg. Gladys had a great love of crafts. She especially enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crochet, quilting and ceramics and all family members, young and old have some treasured examples of her wonderful work. She and Ray spent many summers at their cottages, first at West Hawk Lake and then in later years at Silver Harbor near Gimli. She loved her time spent there with family and friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the staff at West Park Manor for their wonderful compassionate care and many kindnesses to Mom over the past three years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 6:00 pm in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Gladys' memory to the Alzheimers' Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R2C 4G2 or a charity of your choice.
