Born in Jaroslaw, Poland, Marie immigrated with her husband Peter to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1930. They subsequently moved to Moose Jaw and to Winnipeg in 1936. In addition to raising her children, Nell and Joe, she was employed as a seamstress at Monarch Overall Company for 28 years. Marie very much enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of her labour with her family and friends. Marie had strong values and philosophies that she shared with her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter Nell Provinciano (Marcel); son Joe (Gail); four grandchildren: Maury, David (Joanne), Susan (Mike), and Karen (Tico); and nine great-grandchildren: Adora, Jane, Brian, Christopher, Carmen, Maya, Colin, Julia and Paulo, as well as extended families in Poland. Marie was immensely proud of all her children and grandchildren. Special thank you to the beautiful and caring staff at The Convalescent Home, in particular the nurses and care workers on the 3rd floor, for their love, humour and compassionate care, and to Marie's dear friend Karl Kazubek, who brought such a big spark to Marie's eyes over the last several years. Karl, thank you so much for your friendship and kindness. A Funeral service in memory of Marie will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson in the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. (tel. 925-1120). Burial to follow with a reception at the home of family members. Pallbearers are Maury, David, Christopher and Carmen Provinciano, Tico Cornejo and Karl Kazubek.
