CHARLES (CHUCK) REUBEN ORVIS July 26, 1970 June 4, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Charles Reuben Orvis on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Remaining to forever cherish Chuck's memory are his devoted sister Shirley (Rick) Tomasson of Beausejour and other siblings; his nieces Jennifer (Ryan), Jackie (Scott), Jeanette, and Jamie (Jason); as well as several other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn many friends including a very special friend to him, Beverly. He was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Mary Orvis; grandmother Elizabeth Riley; and his brother Robert Orvis. For many years Chuck had an opportunity to work on Lake Winnipeg in his early years, which he thoroughly enjoyed because he also had a profound love of fishing. Chuck also worked at Gillis Quarries and Labour Ready. In addition, he was lucky to have had the pleasure of working in the fields of Alberta. Hard work and helping others was Chuck's code for living. When he wasn't with family you could often find him helping somebody out with some kind of home project. He particularly enjoyed his special friendships with Charlie and Dean Zielke of Beausejour. Charles was taken from us way too soon and we will always be missing a special piece of our family as a result. We take solace in knowing that he is finally reunited with other loved ones that he missed dearly. Chuck's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Winnipeg Police Department, the Search and Rescue Crew, as well as the Beausejour RCMP and St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and support at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck's memory to the Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2. My precious brother, I love you and will miss you, Be at peace in our Lord's arms, Your times of trial and suffering are over. -Love always, your Sis
