Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOSCAR SAGERT November 5, 1929 June 17, 2008 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Oscar Sagert. Oscar passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Victoria General Hospital. Oscar leaves behind his two sons, James (Sheila) and Mark Sagert; two sisters, Annie Will and Lillie Yarowy; and two brothers, Joe and Toefiel Sagert. Oscar was very recently predeceased by his cherished wife of 48 years, Anne Sagert. Dad was born on November 5, 1929 in Minitonas, MB. In the 1950s, after devoting his early years to the family farm, dad forged out on his own, making his way to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dad met his (to be) wife at Grant Memorial Baptist Church in the spring of 1956. Dad and Mom were kindred spirits when it came to the raising of their family. Dad was the picture of dedication and selflessness when it came to his two boys. Dad's efforts on behalf of his family were boundless. Above all other worldly concerns, his family came first. When the kids were happy, Dad was happy and content with his life. In later years, Dad's desire to help other less fortunate souls led him to volunteer at Mission Baptist Church. Dad was compelled by his need to help others and improve their plight on this earth; and in doing so share the Word of God with them. For more than a decade our father battled debilitating Parkinson's disease. While physically and emotionally exhausting, our father proved even stronger than this terrible affliction. However the battle was never an easy one. On Tuesday, June 17, 2008, our father passed away with quiet dignity and grace. His two boys will be forever marked by the courage and class he exhibited during his final hours on this earth. Dad, we are proud of you beyond words. Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Bridges for Peace, P.O. Box 21001, RPO Charleswood, Winnipeg MB R3R 3R2. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to dad's caregivers at River Park Gardens, for their care and attention to our father. Our father was grateful for the opportunity of calling River Park Gardens his home. Thomson In the ParK 925-1120 Send expressions of sympathy to www.mem.com
