MAZA October 19, 1927 - June 19, 2008 Peacefully, with his family by his side, John William Maza passed away at Riverview Heatlh Centre, Winnipeg, MB. Born in Pine Ridge, MB, John moved to Winnipeg and began his career in sales and real estate. Upon retirement he pursued his life-long passion for golf as an active member of Pine Ridge Golf Course. Always interested in sports, he was recognized by the YMCA as a member for 35 years. John was well-read in world politics and was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. John is lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, also known to many as Marion, of 54 years; daughter Barbara (James) Marshall and son Perry (Patti) Maza; grandchildren, Kimberley, Mari-Anne, Lisa, Jamie, Leo and great-grandson Liam. Also, celebrating his memory is brother Eddie Maza; brother-in-law Melford Maguire; brother-in-law Mike (Angela) Chatrybok and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Alex Maza; stepfather John Kishka and sister Evelyn Maguire. The family thanks Dr. Boyd, Dr. Reynolds and the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their professional care and compassion. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue with Fr. Isidore Dziadyk officiating. Internment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church, 737 Bannerman Ave., Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB, 200-6 Donald Street, R3L 0K6 or CancerCare MB, 109-675 McDermott Ave., R3E 0V9.
