Allen Sorensen, passed away peacefully June 19, 2008. He was 74. Allen leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 54 years Esther; daughter Sherry (Rudy Funk); sons, Paul (Sharon) and Mark; grandchildren, Alissa, Shannon (Chris Archer), Ian and Jonathan; his brothers, Ken (Lee) and Gordon (Merilyn); also many nephews and nieces. Born June 12, 1934 in Winnipeg, MB. He spent his working years mainly in the Home Electronics Industry. Working as technician in the early days of radio then later television he was part of the evolution of the industry. Some of the businesses he worked for like Prairie Agencies repaired radios used by bush pilots in the far north. Many of the early television businesses located in St. Rose and Winnipeg such as Krahn's TV, Blair Television and other benefited from his expertise. During his life he put in order his love of Jesus Christ, family and work. He volunteered for various church groups and outreaches throughout his life. Most recently Forward House ministries. His favorite scripture verse was John 3:16. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Voyage Funeral Home 220 Hespeler Avenue The family would like to thank the Riverview Health Centre for their outstanding care. As well as the many other care givers, friends and family that lent their time and support to him.
