AUDREY ELLA HEAD (nee GARDINER) Audrey passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband Lawrence of 61 years; her children Bonnie (Ken) Flockton, Don (Debbie), Shelley (Mark) Pankiw; her grandchildren Tanya (Earle), Lisa (Jared), Colin (Kathleen), Kristina, Breanne, Kaitlyn, Lindsey and Ashley and nine great-grandchildren. Audrey is also survived by her sister Mary Mihalicz, her brother Jim (Dolores) Gardiner as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret, Mildred, George and Agnes. Born February 6, 1927, Audrey spent her early years in Golden Stream District. Lawrence and Audrey met at work and they married soon after on May 17, 1947. Audrey enjoyed camping trips with the family. After her retirement from K-Mart, she loved to travel with Lawrence to warmer winter holidays. Days at the lake were shared with family around bonfires and a good game of cards and horseshoes. Another love of her life was dancing with her lifelong partner. Most of all, Audrey's world revolved around her family and she will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff on 5E at the St. Boniface Hospital, and special thanks to Mel and Kelly for their kindness and support. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. A private interment will take place at a later date at St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Audrey's name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Rest easy our angel DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
