CHESTER GORETZKI Peacefully on June 19, 2008, Chester Goretzki passed away at Concordia General Hospital Emergency. Chester was predeceased by his wife, Marion; parents, Nicholas and Anastazia and sisters, Hedwiga Dennis and Lola Anderson. He leaves to mourn, his daughter Lisa Oliver and grandson Joe Oliver. In addition, nephews, Richard Dennis, Terry (Val) Dennis, Kent (Karin) Anderson and nieces, Gayle (Bill) Anderson, Jennifer (Terry) Anderson-Dyler, Barb Anderson, Brandi Anderson, Cassie Anderson, as well as Andreas and Thomas Anastasiadis. Chester retired from the Canadian Air Force in the early 1970s and worked at a variety of positions until his retirement at the age of 60 due to ill health. He enjoyed reading, walking, watching movies, was quietly proud of his grandson Joe, and loved going to Tim Horton's for coffee and a donut. He struggled for the last couple of years with dementia but seemed to be looking forward to spending time at Holy Family Personal Care Facility. Many heartfelt thanks to the staff of Seven Oaks Unit #11 for their patience with Chester, the kindness of the staff at Holy Family and the understanding of the staff at Concordia General Hospital Emergency. A memorial service will be held at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Avenue, on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kildonan United Church Roofing Fund. Peace and Joy be with you in your journey to the light.
