AMANDA (MANDY) PARRY (nee KARPAN) Suddenly, on Monday, June 23, 2008, surrounded by her family, Amanda (Mandy) Parry passed away at age 75. Mandy will be dearly missed by her children, Raymond (Cara), Donna (Harold) and Heather; her grand-children, Dana (Brandon) and Justin; her sister Mary; sister-in-law Betty and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ray, father Mata, mother Matilda and brother John. Mandy was born and raised in Flin Flon, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg at age 18, married Ray Parry in 1956 and started her family. After raising her family, she returned to the workforce, spending most of her career with the City of Winnipeg, first with Parks and Recreation and later with Civic Properties, until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral for over 55 years; her faith was very important to her. The family wished to thank the doctors and nurses involved in Mandy's care, the Health Sciences Centre Dialysis Unit, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and the St. Boniface Hospital Emergency Department. Prayers will take place at Thomson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch or Jocelyn House.
