Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA NEWTON (nee LEA) November 22, 1922 - June 23, 2008 Peacefully on June 23, 2008 Mom passed away at the Middlechurch Home at the age of 85. Mom was born in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, met and married and had her first son, then immigrated to Canada and had the rest of her family. Mom was predeceased by her second husband Alfred Newton in June 1979 and her eldest son Bill Lea in August 1996. Mom is survived by daughters Betty (Harold) Bagan, Yvonne (Ted) Bolton, sons Bob (Diane) Lea and Cam (Sharna) Lea, grandchildren Dave (Sherry), John (Lisa), Mike, Tamara (Paul), Tanis (Vern), Cindy, Tracy, Tim, Dana, Derek, Michelle and Alison and numerous great-grandchildren. At Mom's request there will be no formal service, a Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the wonderful caring staff at Middlechurch Home D Wing second floor. They made Mom's final weeks very comfortable for her.
