NORMAN O. CLARK Norman Clark, longtime resident of Winnipeg, died suddenly, on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the age of 76 years. Remaining to forever cherish Norman's memory are his sister, Ruth Gibbons of Denio, Nevada; brother-in-law, Bob Neighbor of Regina, Saskatchewan; cousins; numerous nieces and nephews and his many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Seymour Clark, mother, Janet, sisters; Helen, and Harriett and special friend Vivian DuGray. Born on November 17, 1931 in Treherne, Manitoba, Norman began his education in the Pinkerton School District. In 1940, the family moved to the village of Treherne, where he continued his education at West Treherne High School. Norm made many friends, and enjoyed his time in Treherne greatly, but he never lost his love for the Boyne River and the old house on the hill. Norman moved to Winnipeg in 1951, but did not forget his friends or the people of Treherne and the surrounding districts. In Winnipeg, he found employment with the Federal government. Among other employers he worked for the Solicitor General's Department at the Stony Mountain Institution and then later transferred to the Department of Veteran Affairs in Winnipeg from which he retired in 1993. He was a life time member of the Rockwood Army, Navy and Air Force Unit 303. On Saturday, June 28, Norm's memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Rockwood Army, Navy and Air Force, 341 Wilton Street. Interment will follow later the same day, in the Bethel Cemetery, Treherne, Manitoba at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norman's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K9.
