MICHALINA (LENA) TANASYCHUK November 11, 1925 - June 22, 2008 Michalina (Lena) was born in Ruthenia in the RM of Rossburn on November 11, 1925 to Anton and Anne Wladyka. She worked with her parents on their farm until 1946 when she married Michael Tanasychuk. They had four children and farmed until 1988 when they retired. Lena was an active member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Elias in Rossburn. She worked with the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She served as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. She was an active member of the Ukrainian National Home. In 2002 Michael and Lena moved to Kelowna. Lena taught her children to believe in God and follow His Word. Faith was a very large part of her life. She practiced what she believed and lived by example. Lena was predeceased by her parents; brothers Nick, Joe, Mike and Bill; daughter Bernice and son-in-law Ron Katchin in 2000; and her husband Michael in 2004. Lena will be sadly missed and be lovingly remembered by her sisters Dora (Verbowski/Yanick) Irene (Drosdoski), brother Pete Wladyka and sister-in-law Anne Bart, daughters Janet (Bob) Michalyshyn, Elaine (Willie) Mackle, son Conrad (Denise Lemmon) and grandchildren Kristen, Trisha, Will, Chelsey and all her family and friends. Prayers Friday, June 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m. Rossburn Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Memory Eternal Mom, We Love You!
