LILIAN CAMINHA (HARDY)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILIAN CAMINHA (nee HARDY) Peacefully, in the early morning, at the Concordia Hospital on June 25, 2008 Lilian Caminha, in her 85th year, beloved wife for 60 years of Henry. Born on July 18, 1923 to Walter and Florence Hardy (nee Muxlowe) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Lilian is survived by her husband Henry; daughter Florence O'Shea of Ottawa; sons, Leonard of Seven Sisters and James (Sheila) of Winnipeg. Two grandchildren, Kellie O'Shea (David Pumphrey) of Fishers, Indiana and Tyler Caminha of Winnipeg. Three great-grand-daughters, Brittany, Lydia and Lauren of Fishers Indiana, two nieces and two nephews plus several great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and her only sibling, Thelma Smith (late Clare). Lilian was a lifelong resident of Winnipeg attending both Luxton and St. John's Tech. She was also a member of the congregation of St. John's Anglican Cathedral where she and Henry were married on June 12, 1948. Lilian worked from 1942 until 1952 at the Hudson's Bay Company. She was Assistant Cub Leader at Tabernacle Baptist from 1943 to 1948 and at John Black United Church from 1951 to 1953. Henry and Lilian met through their joint cub activities. The retirement years were spent at both Lea Pin and Tall Timber Lodge enjoying her life long favourite pastime, fishing and pursuing the Big One that got away. Graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Please meet at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street at 10:50 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Lilian's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
