MITCHELL (MIKE) KERNOT Peacefully on June 25, 2008 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Mike Kernot, aged 84 years, of Gimli, passed away surrounded by his family. Mike was born and raised in Vidir, MB. He moved to Gimli in 1972 and continued farming at Vidir until selling the farm in 1982. During the winter months he worked as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator. His pastimes included woodworking and auction sales. Mike leaves surviving his loving wife of 62 years, Nettie (nee Deneka), sons Jack (Janice) and Gary, daughters Eleanor (Baldur) and Adeline; grandchildren Kelly (Danny), Nicole (Paul), Mitch, Kevin and Chantal (Brad); greatgrandchildren Justis, Dylan, Faith and Summer; and numerous siblings, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a son Johnny and a son-in-law Kevin. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
