KLAUS GIETZ Peacefully, on June 24, 2008 Klaus passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 73. His memory is cherished, and he will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ruth. He is also survived by daughter Doris Gietz (Ted Nykyforak), grandsons Connor and Adam in Winnipeg, son Juergen and family in Seattle, sister Vera Fiedler (Peter), niece Petra Otto, and nephew Dirk Fiedler all in Germany, as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Else. Klaus obtained his civil engineer designation in Germany, from where he immigrated to Canada in 1958, settled in Winnipeg, married in 1959 and raised two children. He worked with Maple Leaf Construction until his retirement in 1998. Klaus treasured family and friends, had a generous heart, and was an encouragement and mentor to many.
