Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGREGG WAYNE MORDEN Peacefully on June 24, 2008, Gregg Wayne Morden passed away at Riverview. Predeceased by his mother Gwen, he leaves to cherish his memory, his father J. H. (Greg) Morden, his wife Mary Melnychuk, his beloved daughter Amber and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gregg was born in Vancouver on June 29, 1949, but as a child moved to Winnipeg, where he spent most of his life. A kind and gentle man, with an enquiring mind, he delighted in acquiring knowledge. To that end, he received a B.Sc. in 1971, a B.A. in 1978 and a Master's in Agriculture in 1986, all from the University of Manitoba. After working for a couple of years in Yellowknife with the Freshwater Institute, Gregg moved South and began his long career with the University of Manitoba, first with the Department of Soils and then with the Department of Geology. Along the way, he made life-long friends who were a source of great joy to him. He and Mary were married in 1986, and if ever a person could be a true partner, it was Gregg. But his greatest happiness came with the birth of their daughter Amber in 1991. He loved, adored and cherished every moment he spent with her, providing her with good advice, strong shoulders and great love. The family would like to thank Dr. Czaykowski and the chemo staff at CancerCare at Health Sciences Centre and all the staff on 3East at Riverview for their care, support and compassion. A celebration of Gregg's life will be held Wednesday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., with Reverend Joan Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to Reaching E-Quality Employment Services, 305-1200 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0T5, Resource Conservation Manitoba, 303 Portage Avenue, 3rd Floor, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2B4, CancerCare Manitoba or any charity of their choice. Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into another room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. All is well. Henry Scott Holland
