FRANK MILLAN Peacefully, on June 28, 2008, Frank Millan, our husband and Dad, slipped into the arms of our Heavenly Father, at the age of 80 years. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Elizabeth Millan; and siblings, Kazmir, Rudolf and Victor Millan. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Helen; sons, Paul (Cheryl), Gerald (Michele), and James (April); grandchildren, Matthew, Beth, Chad, Shawn and Julia; brothers, Joseph, Stanley, Wally; sister Bernice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad's life began in the upper room of his parents' home in Glenella, MB on May 21, 1928. Throughout his life, Dad accomplished many things. In his early years he loved travelling, having visited the European countries of France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. He spoke fondly of his downhill skiing experiences in Kitzbuhel, Austria and the Swiss Alps. At the age of 26, he built the family cottage at Clear Lake that we still enjoy today. Dad's adventurous spirit led him into many business ventures including the construction of the Snow Lake Hotel with his brother Stan, owning an apartment complex in Chicago, Illinois, as well as being a partner with his brother Wally in the Hamilton Hotel in Neepawa, MB. On June 27, 1965 he married Helen Yanuszewski, the love of his life, with whom he spent 43 wonderful years. As a couple, they raised three sons, and as he so readily admitted, he was never happier than when I am with my boys . Dad was what he considered a Jack of All Trades . In our eyes, he was a Master of All the Trades . He could build a house from the ground up or fix anything that needed fixing. This creativity and ingenuity allowed him to make something useful out of nothing at all. Everything he did in life was for the betterment of his family. We will cherish the many fond memories we have of our Dad and will hold him dear forever. Prayers will said on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, MB., with Rev. Fr. Mark Drozniak presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
