ROSINA MILLS It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Rosina B. Mills, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister on June 27, 2008 at the age of 92. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Rosina Morris and her brothers, Jack, Chuck, George and Bill. Left to cherish her memory are husband Richard, daughters Valerie (Vern), Marilyn (Dennis), grandchildren Morris, Shawn and Marlo (Jamie), great-grandchildren Tyler and Evan. Rose was born August 5, 1915 in (Old) St. James and resided at several different locations in St. James during her work career. She and her husband retired in their Charleswood home until she came to Deer Lodge Centre on September 24, 2007. Rose was a remarkable and strong willed woman who was extremely close to her daughters and her mother. Rose enjoyed her home and was an avid gardener and dog lover. Prior to her vision failing, she was an accomplished seamstress and made her daughter Marilyn's wedding dress. Rose was a woman of unbending character and was able to rise above life's challenges and to do the things that were right for her and her family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre that were involved in her care for their daily help and kindness. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at Deer Lodge Centre with the Rev. Pat Ferris officiating on Friday, July 4 at 2:00 p.m. Thomson Funeral Chapels in care of arrangements. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
