Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJARED WILLIAM PAISLEY 1955 - 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, son and brother, Jared William Paisley at the St. Boniface Hospital, in Winnipeg, on Friday, June 27, 2008. Jared was born and raised in Regina, and is survived by his wife of 21 years, Maureen (Peitsch) Paisley. His parents, Roselyn and Bill Paisley of Regina, his brothers, Kim of North Battleford (Armella, children Kira and John), and Bill of Regina (Karen, children Shawn, Adam and Chris) and sisters, Cheryl of Calgary (children Aric, Kent and Lesley), and Patrice of Cochrane (Henry). Jared was predeceased by his brother-in-law Vance Allred of Calgary. Jared completed his grade 12 in Regina. He went to Thunder Bay, ON in 1973, to follow his love of the outdoors by studying forestry. He spent his summers timber-cruising and swatting mosquitoes with his roommates the Munro brothers, Wade and Dale, who became his lifelong friends. Jared graduated from Lakehead University in 1977 with a B.Sc. in Forestry. As a forester, he worked in Kenora, ON and Prince Albert, SK managing reforestation projects. In 1981, the Paisley siblings traveled together to Nepal to visit cousins Deb and Ross, doctors working on a Save the Children project. He spent six weeks trekking throughout Nepal and India, an experience that enriched and altered his views on life. In 1982, he went to the University of Manitoba to complete an M.B.A. He met his future wife Maureen, at the library, and began to spend much time in the library studying. They were married in 1986, and a year later, emigrated to New Zealand, where Jared taught at the University of Waikato, School of Business Management. Three years later they returned to Canada, and Jared began his work as a Program Director, in Extended Education Division at the University of . Jared loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, and walking among trees and always taking time to enjoy the journey. He was an avid skier, be it water, downhill, or cross-country. If it involved skis, he was in his element. He preferred walking, and biking to driving a car; whenever possible, he took the bus rather than a vehicle. When driving, he always slowed down to let busses into the lane. Jared accepted people for who they were, and his friendships were never challenged by distance, separation, or time. He was a generous, selfless, and loving person, with a wry sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family who will cherish his memory. The family would like to thank: Father Roland for his love and guidance; the staff at the St. Boniface hospital Emergency Department, in particular Drs. Clark, Jha, and Chan, and Intensive Care nurses, James, Stacey, Sean, Marcia, Robert, and Denise for their care, support, and compassion. A celebration of Jared's life will be held Wednesday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Lutheran Church located at the intersection of Raleigh, Rebeck and Birds Hill Road with Pastor Annemarie MacIntosh officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
