WINSTON (BLAKE) HOLDEN It is with great sadness that we the family of Blake Holden announce his passing on June 30, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Myrna; children, Sheila (Daniel), Cameron (Stella), Rhonda (Keith); grandchildren, Alex, Santiago, Mathew, Christopher, Francesca and five month old Nicholas Blake; siblings, Lorraine, Gloria, Blair and their families, as well as many other family and dear friends. He was born on October 1, 1933 and grew up in the Swan River Valley area. He worked for HBM S in Flin Flon, MB, before relocating to Winnipeg to further his education and achieving his B.A. and his B.ED. at the University of Manitoba. His teaching career with the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 began at JB Mitchel School, Wolseley and then retiring from Farraday School in 1997. In his retirement years he and Myrna travelled to see his children in Florida and England, he especially enjoyed his golfing and curling throughout his retirement. Special thanks goes out to all of our family and friends for their kind wishes and support. Thank you also to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care Program and 8A Palliative Care at St. Boniface General Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home (455 Lagimodiere Blvd., one block south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made out to St. Boniface General Hospital in care of the Palliative Care Program.
