DAVID MARK HAYNES It is with deepest sorrow that the family announce the passing of our fiancé, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, David Haynes. Ever grumpy, and well known for his fiercely independent nature, David was handsome, charming and industrious. He always spoke his mind, often to the chagrin of those who did not appreciate his direct approach to most things in life. Taken from us at a time when he was very happily and excitedly anticipating his wedding to his longtime girlfriend and soul-mate Luey , David has left a hole in the hearts of the many people who loved him for exactly who he was... just Dave. Dave was a blacksmith, who at his passing was employed by the City of Winnipeg Transit, and until recently Arne's Welding, as well. Previously with C.N. Rail, Dave was always a hard-working working man with strong hands and Popeye like arms. His cottage at Ottermere, ON was a joy, a place of refuge, a place of solitude, and a place of friendship, hard work and good times. The Transcona boy through and through was born and raised in Elmwood and East Kildonan, but re-rooted himself and was always proud of his Transcona home and life. An avid snowmobiler and boater, Dave's love of fishing and the outdoors was very much a part of his being. Sitting on his dock looking out over Ottermere was just reward at the end of a day of hard work. Dave is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Luane Campbell - who completed him and was to become his wife on June 27, two days before his passing. He is survived by his mother Patricia Joan, her husband John Carleton, his sister Nancy and husband Brad Cove, brother Trevor, nieces Katelyn, Hillary and Alexandra, Luane's children Douglas and Wayne. He will be eternally missed by his son Michael, Dave's pride and joy! The strong support of Michael's girlfriend Alana Ududec throughout this very difficult time has sustained Michael and is sincerely appreciated by the entire family. Dave was predeceased by his father Aubrey, grandparents Harry and Ruth Chamberlain, Charles and Margaret Haynes, and sister-in-law Christine. Dave's family send their most sincere thanks to the firefighters and paramedics, staff of Concordia Hospital Emergency, St. Boniface Hospital Cardiac Unit and especially the entire I.C.U. staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their caring and compassion for Dave and his family. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at East End Community Club, 517 Pandora Avenue E., Transcona, MB. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you take time now to spend with your loved ones. You never know what the next moment might bring. We'll miss you, Dave!
