Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTONY MICHAEL AUGUSTINE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband and father, Tony on Monday, June 30, 2008. Tony is cherished by his beloved wife of 33 years, Karen and his loving son, Anthony (Kate), his mother, Nana Fran, his sisters Brenda (Brian) and Jill, brother-in-law Greydon (Carolyn), his nephews Ryan (Karen), Cory (Genny), Craig, Michael (Erin), Kelly (Brian) and family friend Michelle. Tony was predeceased by his father Papa Joe, father-in-law Papa John, mother-in-law Nana Kelly and nephew Kenneth. Tony was born in Souris, MB on August 22, 1949 and moved to Lac du Bonnet at the age of three and a half years. He was an avid water skier competing at both Provincial and National levels. He was a member of the Lakers Ski Club for 46 years and served on the executive for many of those years. Water skiing was one of Tony's many passions. One of his fondest memories was when the Lakers hosted the Canadian Nationals in 1965. Tony believed in community involvement and served as the Assistant Captain on the Volunteer Fire Department and local ambulance service. When Anthony got older, Tony turned his attention to coaching his son's hockey and baseball teams and served on the Lac du Bonnet Arena Board for several years. Tony was proud to work alongside his father and sister Jill in the family business Augustine Brothers. Tony was known as an honest businessman who showed loyalty to his customers. Tony loved to travel with his family whether it was in the white camper, a trip to Minneapolis or one of their many hot holidays. He shared a love of NASCAR and World of Outlaws sprint racing with Karen. They attended many races together through the years. Tony was a caring, loving, dedicated and proud husband, father, son, brother and friend. A celebration of Tony's life will be held on Saturday, July 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion at 45 McArthur Avenue, Lac du Bonnet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lac du Bonnet Arena, 35 McArthur Avenue, Lac du Bonnet, MB R0E 1A0.
