Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBILL LERCH Bill Lerch died peacefully June 29, 2008 in Penticton, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Martha who died August 29, 2005. Bill and Martha had seven children, Linda (Ron) Kletke, Don (Sharon), Glen (Marge), Dennis (Ruby), Larry (Donna), Gail (Carl) Christie, Marvin (Karen); 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and four great-greats on the way. Bill was born in Germany on July 22, 1912 and settled in Rosenfeld, Manitoba. In 1945 Bill and Martha moved to Brooklands a suburb of Winnipeg. Their home on Elgin Avenue was open to many relatives and friends. Bill was a butcher and had his own shop on Keewatin Street. He then worked at other butcher shops in the North end of Winnipeg. He served as a volunteer fire fighter and on the school board in Brooklands, Manitoba. In 1981, Bill and Martha retired to Penticton, BC. Celebration of Life service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2800 South Main Street, Penticton, BC on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Vic Morris presiding. Even throughout his debilitating dementia his amazing sense of humor shone through. It is what we will miss the most. Donations can be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church in Bill's memory. Thank you so much to the staff at Haven Hill for the past six years of loving care of Dad. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Providence Funeral Homes.
