T. F. GORTON STRECKER With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Gorton in Vancouver surrounded by his family on June 24, 2008, in his 90th year. Gort was predeceased by Peg, his loving wife of 63 years as well as his many siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Catherine (Hugh), Susan (Baron) and his cherished grandchildren Caitlin, Liam and Aidan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews as well as close family in Germany. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg and was the proud owner of A. Adams Supply (1969) Ltd. having only retired from active participation in the past seven years. Dad lived a life that was full with family, great friends, good health and hard earned success. Dad and Mom enjoyed countless trips throughout Europe over the years and loved their many stays on Maui. Dad loved golf and gave Aidan his first taste of golf, including driving the cart at the tender age of eight, while holidaying on Maui. Dad had a zest for life, his friends, story telling and his boats. Dad was a great father and grandfather and we will miss his generosity of spirit and sage life lessons. A private family memorial will be held as was Dad's wish. As cancer has touched our family in so many ways, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Gort's memory would be greatly appreciated, in lieu of flowers.
