Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE HARRISON (nee MCGEE) July 10, 1922 - July 2, 2008 Peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Betel Home with her family at her side, Nellie Harrison of Selkirk, MB, passed away at the age of 85 years. Nellie will be lovingly remembered by her son Ken (Donna), daughter Jo-Anne Tittlemier, six grandchildren, Diana (Ken) Babych, Sheryl, Brenda, Lindsay (Les) McRae, Grant, Amber (Brad) Honke and four great-grandchildren, Harrison and Taylor Babych, Austin and Madison McRae and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Nellie was the last surviving member of the John McGee family. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Mike (1968) and son-in-law Ron (1986), her parents John and Eugenia McGee, five brothers, Joe, Nick, Tony, Frank, Paul and two sisters Annie Wusaty and Rosie McGee. Mom was born on July 10, 1922 in Walkleyburg, MB. She lived and farmed there until moving into Selkirk in 1973. She worked at the Betel Home for 15 years and her favourite pastime was volunteering at the House of Economy, Gordon Howard Centre and she enjoyed making perogies at the Ukrainian Catholic Church. Mom lived at the Lion's Centre for 18 years and enjoyed playing scrabble, card games and made many friends there. This last year she resided at Betel Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2008 with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, East Selkirk with Father Peter Chorney officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Diana, Sheryl, Brenda, Lindsay, Grant and Amber. Honorary Pallbearers are Ken Babych, Les McRae, Brad Honke, Harrison and Taylor Babych and Austin and Madison McRae. Nellie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed but always remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Betel Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nellie's memory to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children Foundation, 633 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg, MB, R3M 0A8.
