NORMAN (NORM) DEAN KIRTON January 5, 1938 July 1, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Norm Kirton at the age of 70 years on Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Dad will be missed by his children Derek (Gabriella), Greg (Rhonda), Janice (Jim), Troy (April); grandchildren Damian (Chantal), Candace, Ariane, Morgan, Katie, Dante; and greatgrandchild Eleanore; brother Donn (Norine); sister Gloria Wilkes; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife Elda; son Dean; brother Gary; and parents William and Violet. Dad's career in broadcasting led to meeting his life soul mate, Elda, who he celebrated 46 years of wedding bliss with. No one celebrated life more than Dad. There was no task too big. Dad could fix boats in the middle of the lake in adverse conditions or repair a car no matter how difficult the situation. Dad's creative skills were his greatest gift. He always enjoyed painting and his gift for written expression was exceptional. Dad also had a passion for politics. His direct involvement with the birth of Folklorama lead to the success it is today. Norm was a member of the Masonic Temple, and volunteered with many organizations including the Cadet Program and the United Way. Please join us in celebrating Dad's life on Saturday, July 5 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue. We would like to thank Dad's health care providers, especially the physicians at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation, 409 Tache Avenue, Room D1003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Love you Dad -30-
