Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERTA STEWART VINET Sadly, the family announces the passing of Roberta Stewart (Henderson) Vinet on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 following a brief stay at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to mourn is the immediate family; husband Joseph; daughters Susan, husband Robert Black and children Douglas and Jennifer; Vivian and husband Robert Goettler; Kristine and Jarrett; Janine, husband Len Wlasichuk and children Andrea, Dyana and Erica. Thankfully, the treasured blessings coupled with 60 years of indelible fond memories will help erase the strain of the double burden of illness bourne by mum in recent years. A budding buyer for Hudson Bay House, Mum, in January 1948 chose the stay at home role of marriage and gifted our lives immensely. Community minded, Mum initially served both St. James Anglican Church and Deer Lodge Community Club while residents of Linwood Street and nearby Bruce Avenue. Moving still further west, Moray Street became headquarters and St. Andrews our church, with volunteer time for the Red Cross canteen at Deer Lodge Hospital and Grace Hospital. Dad's retirement in 1977 made Wasagaming, Riding Mountain National Park home for 9 years. Track and field in high school lead to First Base on the St. James team in the Winnipeg Senior Girls League. Once employed, for several years an ever improving bowling average grew to just under 200. Then, those ideal season opposites, curling and golf caught Mum's fancy, the latter reluctantly tapering off 8 seasons ago. Somehow threading its way through part of the above was the St. James Y.M.C.A. charter family membership, then away to Wasagaming. Retirement was never complete without some travel. Most winters between 1976 2000 found Mum and Dad exploring our neighbours sunbelt between Murtle Beach on the east coast and San Diego on the west. English mothers and dads Second World War overseas service became the incentive and 6 summers between 1974 and 1999 were spent visiting relatives and friends while touring the British Isles and western Europe. Two Manitoba winters were spent down-under. For Mum, the bonus measure of pleasure has always been; the beauty of nature, its wonders found in New Zealand, the east coast of Australia and several island nations. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. NEIL BARDAL INC. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
