MIKE BAZIUK It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Baziuk announces his passing at the age of 88 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mike was born, raised and lived his entire life in Vita, Manitoba. Dad was a caring, loving, dedicated, and proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Dad was an excellent provider, working on his farm until his retirement. He will be remembered as an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Dad personified the true country spirit, enjoying the outdoors, relishing in the peace and tranquility of rural Manitoba. He is survived by his wife Lena, son Bill, and daughters, Sonia (Ray) Rudy, and Lucy (Bob McRoberts). Also, two grandchildren, Dwayne (Kellie) Rudy, Lisa (Shawn) Paluck, and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Paluck and Grayson and Logan Rudy. He also leaves behind a sister Mary Baysarowich and nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, with funeral services on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Vita, MB, with Very Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
