VICTOR EMMANUEL SAWIAK 1928 2008 On June 30, 2008, Victor Sawiak died peacefully with people he loved surrounding him. It was a gentle passing that we were all grateful for. Victor leaves his wife of 58 years, Ann Sawiak, his daughter Lynn Stannard (Art), his son Grant Sawiak (Annalee), his four grandsons Alex, Luke, David and Adam and his granddaughter Marissa. Vic devoted himself to raising his family and worked as a cargo supervisor for Air Canada for many years. After his retirement, he had the time to lavish his love on his grandchildren and he was an enthusiastic and deeply committed grandfather. Vic was the best example of a loving husband, father and grandfather and that was the legacy he left our family with. He reminded us often that the deep love for and importance of family was the cornerstone of a life and he lived that every day. The family would like to thank the nurses on the A5 wing at Health Sciences Centre who treated Vic with such kindness and dignity. Special thanks to Angalo and Liliana for their kind concern. At Vic's request, cremation has already taken place. A family celebration of Vic's life will be held in lieu of a service.
