Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE (KAY) CHORNEY (nee MAREK) Peacefully, at the Beausejour Health Centre on July 5, 2008, Katherine passed away in her 89th year. Predeceased by husband Kasimer in 1994, Kay is loved and missed greatly by sons, Alfred (Elizabeth); Bernie; Larry; Marion (Joan); grandchildren Jocelyn (Scott Young); Angela, Andrew, John Paul, Shaun Peter and great-granddaughter Annabel Katherine Chorney Young. Kay is survived by brothers and sisters, John (Helen) Marek; Joe (Wilma) Marek; Stanley Marek; Jean Prowse; Edward (Vi) Marek; Joyce (Arly) Corbett; Kenneth (Phyllis) Marek; sister-in-law Jean Marek; brother-in-law Ed Mazur and their respective Families. She was predeceased by parents, Gregory and Rose (Bukoski) Marek; brother Mike Marek; sister Emily Mazur and brother-in-law Dave Prowse. Kay is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, their children and by several generations of cousins in the Marek, Bukoski, Dudeck, Burek, Neduzak, Gmiterek, Przednowek and Wasney Families. Kay's strong determination, willing hard work and devoted concern for all members of her Family gave all who met and worked with her a sense of inspiration and care for everyone. Expectations were high and often fulfilled. The family wishes to express sincere and everlasting gratitude to neighbors, friends, relatives, health care workers and staff who have so generously given extra efforts and time to help Kay make her life just a little easier and a lot more pleasant over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6, phone 204-949-2000 or to a charity of one's choice. A gathering of family, friends and neighbors will be held on 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3rd Street and Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, also at St. Mary. Interment to follow at the Tyndall Cemetery.
