Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA SCHWARK August 1, 1921 - July 3, 2008 With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother on Thursday, July 3 at Victoria General Hospital. Mom was predeceased by her husband Ted in 1993. Dear daughter Lorraine in 1966; grandson Michael in 1997; great-grandson Joshua in 2002; sister Della in 1976 and brother Walter in 1992. She is survived by her son Dennis and his wife Margaret; granddaughter Kristin and her husband Rudy Harder and great-grandchildren, Liam, Nolan and Maislyn; sister Edna Fortier of Pine Falls; brother Cliff Neumann of Emerson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in the Ridgeville area and lived near Emerson until her marriage to Dad in 1940, then returning to farm at Ridgeville where they farmed until 1977, when they retired to Emerson. Mom was always proud of being a farmer. Mom's life was filled with many hobbies, taking great joy in her flowers. She spent many hours pressing flowers turning them into greeting cards. She was a gifted flower arranger and did decoupage wall hangings. She then began quilting turning out warm comfy quilts and beautiful spreads. Mom was an active member of Emerson and Ridgeville Curling Club, the local Horticultural Society, the New Horizons Club as well a 4H Leader. She was able to enjoy many trips with Dad. Her favorite being Alaska and Yukon. Mom decided to enjoy life at Lindenwood Manor in Winnipeg where she spent five years. We are most grateful to the Administration staff and residents for their care and understanding. We would also like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and caregivers at Victoria Hospital. A celebration of Mom's life will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Emerson, MB on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Emerson Cemetery.
