ALAN KEN SUGA Born May 12, 1948 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our son, father and grandfather, Alan Ken Suga on July 2, 2008 at the age of 60. Alan is survived by his mother Wilma (Fumiyo); son Daniel (Nancy); grandson Alex, nephews Kevin, Mark and Jeff and companion Maureen Craigon. He was predeceased by his father Harry (Tatsuo) and brothers, Robert and Andrew. Alan was born and raised in Winnipeg, attending high school at Daniel McIntyre and Miles MacDonell, followed by the University of Manitoba. He has been Assistant General Manager at Met-Wood Industries for over 20 years, working with good friend Lynn Brown. Alan had a passion for sports his entire life, including golf, hockey, golf, baseball, and golf, and has been a member at St. Boniface Golf Club for many years. If he wasn't at work, and it wasn't raining, you usually knew where to find him. For the last five years, Pop enjoyed spending a great deal of time with his only grandchild, his grandson Alex, sharing his love of sports and games. Alan's quick wit and keen sense of humor was well known among friends and family. He was known to go out of his way to help anyone who needed it, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive. Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, Alan's family would appreciate donations go the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Neil Bardal Inc. 949-2200

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I worked with Alan many years ago at Builder's Furniture and I remember him as being a very good natured man with a joke and a smile for everyone. He always spoke so proudly and lovingly of his son, so it's not hard to imagine the joy he would've felt at being a grandpa. Nor is it hard to imagine how much he will be missed. My thoughts are with all of you. - Posted by: cheryl johnston (Co-Worker) on: Jul 08, 2008
