LEO MADDEN February 17, 1938 June 29, 2008 Leo Mark Madden was born the youngest of 13 children to Ivy (Dance) and Joseph Madden in Winnipeg. He was educated in Winnipeg, graduating from St. Paul's College. He moved to Brandon, married Lillian Kalyniak in 1966. His career in social work for Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba lasted over 35 years. After Lil's passing in 2002 he moved to Killarney in 2004. Leo passed suddenly in Belcourt, North Dakota of natural causes at the age of 70 years. Leo was predeceased by his wife Lil, three infant sons, his parents, two sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Leeanne and Matthew Nowak; his son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons Elliot, Stacey, Greyson and Marshall Madden; one sister and three brothers, sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Leo appreciated a good round of golf, good food, a good joke and especially time spent with family and friends. He was light-hearted in nature and was never without a quick retort, witty play on word or obscure pun. He will be missed dearly by the many lives he has touched. A special thank you to the staff at Killarney's Hospital and Bayside Personal Care home. A Memorial Service was held at St. Augustine's Church in Brandon on Friday, July 4, at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated, in lieu of flowers. Killarney Boissevain Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
