Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN LOUISE RUSSELL February 1920 - June 2008 Peacefully in her sleep on June 17, 2008, Kay passed away in her 89th year at the Souris Personal Care Home. Kay is survived by her brother Richard Russell and wife Norma of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Donna Russell of Souris, several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters and one brother. Kay was born in Souris on February 28, 1920, the second eldest of six children of John and Martha Russell. She was raised in Souris and spent her whole life there, where she attended public and high school and was later employed at the Souris Post Office for her whole working life, retiring in 1985. Kay was interested in all the family and kept contact with all members, especially her nieces and nephews. She was a loyal and faithful supporter of St. Lukes Anglican Church for many years until suffering from arthritis and other health problems prevented active involvement. Kay also maintained an interest in and supported community projects. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Souris Personal Care Home for taking such good care of Kay during her time there. Their compassion and understanding were appreciated. A graveside service was held on June 27, conducted by Anglican minister Rev. Mark Murray. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Kowalchuk Funeral Home of Souris. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Arthritic Society or to a charity of their choice.
