DONALD JOHN SEBASTIAN Peacefully in his sleep, on July 5, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Irene Sebastian (nee Cleaver), Don is survived by his wife, Brenda Sebastian (nee Ross), daughters Laurene Joy Sebastian, Donna Mae Sebastian and Carey Jaye Sebastian; granddaughter Janelle Joyce Baker (Jonathan), granddaughter Denae Dawn Libke and grandson Adam James Libke and great-granddaughters Jaxon Adriana and Georgia Riley Baker. Don also leaves to mourn his stepchildren and grandchildren Charlene (Daryl) Simchuk and Kevin and Craig, Darren (Lisa) Oryniak and Julie, Derek and Weston. Born in Winnipeg on July 9, 1929, Don was a star athlete in almost every sport. His lifetime career with C.N.R. took him from stock boy to National Director of Grain Sales across Canada. After retiring in 1986, Don spent 20 enjoyable years at the cottage at Jessica Lake. Big Don and Big Gumpa will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and at the Health Sciences Centre for taking care of Don with humour and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 109 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6 would be appreciated. Services followed by a reception will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120

Don will be greatly missed by my wife and I, and also his friends at Jessica Lake. Don was a great help to me at the cottage and our home in Winnipeg. We have had many good times playing cards and Happy hour on the deck.
