KLAUS LINKAITIS May 23, 1933 July 7, 2008 After a courageous battle with cancer we regret to inform you of the passing of Klaus Linkaitis, of Selkirk, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Klaus was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 2002. He is survived by his children Lynda (Richard), Leona (Randy), Lyle (Cheryl, and her son Coby) and his granddaughter Hayley; his loving companion Anne Gowryluk, as well as relatives in Denmark and Belgium. Klaus worked for Manitoba Hydro for many years at various locations across Manitoba, eventually settling in Selkirk where he retired. His many pastimes were traveling, golf, cards, darts, and curling but what he most enjoyed was a good cigar along with three good cold beers. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the excellent care provided over the last six months. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with The Ven. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Clement's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
