Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES CONRAD HODDINOTT Peacefully on July 6, 2008 Conrad Hoddinott passed away of Leukemia at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 63. He is survived by his daughter Gail Hoddinott, brother Sterling (Louisa) and their two sons Rod and Stefan. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Lilian and his wife Janice (Day). Conrad was born August 23, 1944 in St. John's, Newfoundland. He began a career as a photographer for Canadian Press when he was just 15 years old. He became a columnist for a St. John's newspaper and was a news announcer for CBC Radio. He was also a journalist for Broadcast News in Winnipeg and a parliamentary reporter in Ottawa, where he worked closely with Pierre Trudeau as an election campaign reporter. In his career, Conrad interviewed several U.S. Presidents, British Royalty and International Political leaders. He was Editor-in-Chief at Canadian Press in Toronto. Conrad left journalism to own and operate two Japan Camera stores in Winnipeg. In lieu of a service, a gathering for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy. Flowers are gratefully declined; donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
