Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK JOSEPH MCCOMBE June 18, 1938 July 8, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Joseph McCombe on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the age of 70. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anne; children, Lynda (Rick), Greg, Leslie (Brad), Heather (Brian), Cheryl, Glen; beloved grandchildren Ryan (Michelle), Katelyn, Brittany, Ashley and Tyson; siblings, Jim (Lesley), Brian (Irene), Doreen (John), Lorraine, Joanne (Kim) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Jean McCombe, brother Larry and beloved granddaughter Laura. Jack was born in Winnipeg on June 18, 1938, the youngest boy in a family of seven siblings. Jack grew up and was schooled in Winnipeg, receiving his Certified Management Accounting Designation and began his career at John Wood Company, Misericordia General Hospital and retired after 25 years of service at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Jack also had a passion and owned and operated several small businesses in Winnipeg: St. Anne's Pharmacy, Harmans Drug Store, Harmans Too, Tridon Dialapage and P. A. McCombe Consultants. Jack retired in Anola, where he loved country life surrounded by his many pets and had many wonderful friends and neighbours. Jack also took an active part in the Springfield Community. In his spare time, Jack loved to golf, walk the property and spent many hours cheering for his grandchildren from the sidelines in various sports and activities. Jack also enjoyed time at the beach in the Matlock, Whytewold area for many years. Jack was known for his quick wit and sense of humour, to know Jack was to love him. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the ICU at Seven Oaks who added so much comfort to Jack in his last few days, Julie, Irma, Vivian and Dr. Cleghorn were amazing. The Emergency Staff at Beausejour District Hospital, Dr. Van Rensburg, Brokenhead and Springfield Emergency Medical and Police services for their outstanding efforts, caring and compassion. The family would also like to sincerely thank Blair and Trudy Wilgosh for their watchful eye and loving care shown to Jack's pets during his time spent in hospital. It was Jack's wish that no formal funeral service be held. A private interment for the family to be held at the Elmwood Cemetery on Friday, July 11, 2008.
