Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN SCHETTLER John Schettler died at the Grace Hospital on July 8, 2008 at the age of 89. John is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary, son Warren (Trudy), daughter Sandra, grandchildren Keith, Donnalee (Tim), and Alexandra. John leaves behind many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren Bryan and Shelley (Rick), great-grandchildren Branden, Shelby, Cody and Jada, and sister-in-law Kay Schettler. John was predeceased by his cherished parents Jacob and Christina, brothers Bill, Emil, Charles, Frank, Jack, Walter and sister Frieda. Born on October 1, 1918 in Tenby, Manitoba, John and his family moved to Winnipeg after his father's death. When John's mother remarried, the family moved to Saskatchewan. He joined the Air Force and served from June 1942 until October 1945. He was a member of ANAVETS #283. He started J. Schettler Electric Ltd. in 1958, retiring in 1984. John spent the last 31 winters in Arizona. John enjoyed wine making, bridge, curling, golf and will miss his buddy Zazi. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with reception to follow. Flowers gratefully declined, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, P.O.
