MARY EVELYN (MCAFEE) HYLAND (nee MCGUEY) 1918 - 2008 Evelyn Hyland passed away on July 10, 2008 after a short illness at the age of 89 entering her 90th year. She was predeceased by her mother and father, two husbands Ernest Eldon McAfee and Dennis James Hyland, two sisters Grace Henson and Iva Eady, and baby brother Irvin age three. Left to mourn are her children Barbara Derksen (Neil), Robert McAfee (Elaine), and Linda Coote (Bob), nine grand-children Todd Derksen, Stephen Derksen, Robert Coote, Christopher Derksen, Colin McAfee, Lindsay Derksen, Jeff Coote, Amber McAfee, and Kristin McAfee, nine great-grandchildren, three sisters Margaret Walker, Georgina Martel, and Shirley McGuey and three brothers James, John and Stanley McGuey. Memorial service to be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LBE, in care of George Hill, Faith to Live By, in care of Calvary Temple, the Heart Stroke Foundation, or the Cancer Society. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff and residents of Sturgeon Creek II, an assisted living facility, for their kindness and consideration during their mother's illness.
