One missed heartbeat and our lives were forever changed Ten years have passed, in our hearts and thoughts, you have remained. For the last ten winters, springs, summers and falls With each celebration, we were told, time would heal all. Each day, we wish you were here, to see the kids' hockey, gymnastics and dance How proud and happy you'd be, if only we'd have been given one more chance. One missed heartbeat, ten years ago, We've missed having you in our lives so. Time has passed so slowly, yet at the same time so fast You influence our future, having been such a big part of our past. We're still heard saying, if only Dad were here Whether it be at home hanging out or at the lake having a beer. Your zest for life and love for your family Will live on and on in our hearts for all eternity.
