MARY MAGDELINE KREUTZER (nee SCHIKURSKI) June 5, 1916 - July 12, 2008 With much sadness, the family announces the passing of Mary on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Grace Hospital, after a valiant fight against cancer. Mary's memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Lynda (Howard) Eagle, son Richard (Lois); her grandchildren Dana (Dustin) Boath, Marlee (Richard) Moore, Christopher (Candace) Kreutzer, Heather (Karl) Decksheimer and R.J. (Kara) Kreutzer, her great-grandchildren Kalen and Tyler Boath, Linden and Brandt Moore, Maya, Rudy and Julia Kreutzer, Ethan Liesl, Charlee Decksheimer and Benjamin Kreutzer. Mary is also survived by sisters Sophie Havelock, Billie Ingram, Fronie (Harold) Floer, Agnes (Ed) Wiome, brother Frank (Pat) Schikurski and sister-in-law Eleanor Schikurski. She is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Rudy; her parents Jacob and Felicia Schikurski, brothers Jake and Johnny; sisters Regina Feicht, Katie Kaip. Also predeceasing her are her in-laws, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was born on June 5, 1916 in Ambrose, North Dakota. She lived in the US and moved to Canada with her parents when she was old enough to work; she worked many places but eventually ended up in Winnipeg. She worked at Rudy's Inn (downtown Winnipeg) where she later married the owner Rudy Kreutzer on August 5, 1944. After the kids arrived, Mary stayed home but as they got older, she worked for Empress Lanes (coffee shop) Assiniboia Downs (3rd floor food stand Manager) and K-Mart. Mary and Rudy briefly operated The Family Inn Restaurant in Flin Flon where Mary was their excellent cook. Upon returning to Winnipeg, Marry and Rudy became caretakers at their block with Mary only retiring from caretaking at 85 years young. Mary excelled at cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting. Each grandchild has a special something made and all have many memories of Grandma. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
