Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHADEUS (TED) JOSEPH GMITROWSKI Born September 26, 1931 Thadeus Joseph Gmitrowski, aged 76 years, of Beausejour, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2008. Ted is survived by his children Kim (Bill) Worthington, Leslie (Ron) Spokes, Barb (George) Scharer, Tammie (Bruce) Murray and Ted (Michele) Gmitrowski. Ted is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, two great-grand-children and his buddy Catz. Ted was predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph, wife Helen and son-in-law Wade. He was a Winnipeg Transit bus driver for many years. Ted always had an interest in electronics. He worked at acquiring his certification and became self-employed in the TV and radio repair business. During that time, he also drove school bus for Agassiz School Division. Driving school bus was a highlight for Ted and this became a source of many great stories. Ted was employed at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited in the Protective Services/Firefighting Department, retiring in 1992. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Pinawa Fire Department. Ted enjoyed cutting firewood, snowmobiling, curling, baseball, golfing and fishing. His grandchildren were a source of happiness in his life (if it weren't for Grandpa, there would be less spoiled children in the world). He was an easy-going person, with a quick smile for those he'd meet. A service in Celebration of Ted's Life will be held at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour on Thursday, July 17 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. I lost a wonderful Father-in-Law far too soon after I lost My Mother-in-Law (his wife). I do believe we lost him to a broken heart. - Posted by: Michele Gmitrowski (Daughter in Law) on: Jul 16, 2012
