PETER FROESE FUNK Suddenly, on July 12, 2008 Peter Funk passed away, at the age of 80 years old. Leaving Ruth, his loving wife of over 54 years. Also missing him are his nine children Denise (John), Barry (Brenda), Brenda (Jack), Bill (Nancy), Rick (Deb), Terry (Karen), Cindy (Tony), Jim (Lenda), Jeff (Tracy), his 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pieta is survived by his siblings, Kay, Dorothy (Pete), Hilda, John, Harry (Dorothy), Bill (Mary) and Fred (Gwen); sisters-in-law Helen and Eva. Predeceased by his cherished parents Wilhelm and Maria, siblings Ben, Mary, and in infancy Erdman, Willie, Erdman, Trudy and brother-in-law Alvin. Born in Lowe Farm, Peter worked on farms in that area in his younger years. As a young man he moved to Winnipeg, working at Canada Malting, then Winnipeg Transit. He received 20 years safe driving award and retired after 28 years of service. The family would like to thank the speedy response of the WFPS and the caring of Junanne and the emergency room staff of Health Sciences Centre. Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr. with a reception to follow.
