MARIE RAWN October 8, 1918 - July 14, 2008 After a long struggle with Alzheimer disease, it is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marie Rawn on Monday July 14, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital. She was 89. Marie was born in Medicine Hat, AB and raised in East Braintree, MB. She married Peter in 1941 and they lived in Whitby, ON, Terrace and Sardis, BC, before moving back to Winnipeg in 1947. In addition to raising a family, Marie worked for many years at Eaton's Downtown. Marie enjoyed gardening, going for walks, playing cards, and going to the family cottage at Ponemah. Marie was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1994, her parents Peter and Dora Perchuk, and by her siblings, Lena, Katie, Anna, Alex, George, and Peter. She is survived, and will be missed, by her daughters Carol Zilkey (Bryan), Sandra Reid (Dale), and son Gary Rawn (Thea) of Ottawa. Marie will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Blair, Megan, Roger, Mark, and Serena, and her great-grandson David and his mother Nadine, all of whom she loved spending time with. She will also be missed by her sisters Georgina, Betty, Margaret, and brother Bill. Marie will be lovingly remembered for her endless energy, willingness to help others, and in the many holiday and other traditions that her children follow today. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held.
