OLGA CHARKO (DZIURDZIEWICZ) It is with mixed emotions and profound sadness we announce Olga's passing on July 11, 2008 at the age of 78, one month and one day to her 79th birthday. She has no more suffering or pain and is home with her Lord. Mom was born in Dobra Szlachacka Sanok Poland on August 12, 1929 and immigrated to Canada in June 1930. She retired from Zeller's in 1988, but her greatest joy was to be at home for her children and latterly for her grandchildren, Kelly and Mikey Charko. Olga leaves to mourn, her children, Pat Boisjoli (Maurice), Michael Charko (Evelyn); sisters, Sally Kruk, Lasha Budzan; sister-in-law, Ann Dowd in BC; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Baba and Gigi Dziurdziewicz, Mike Charko, Babca Charko; brothers-in-law, Ed Budakowski and Sam Kruk; and nephew, Phillip Budakowski. Mom was an amazing woman who had worked hard her entire life. Her life was not always easy, but she was a strong, determined woman who always put her family first. Her family was her most important treasure. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will always cherish our memories of Mom and her unending love and support in our endeavours. All who knew Mom loved her quiet nature and positive outlook on life. She accepted people for who they were without passing judgement. She was always generous, full of grace and charm. Her sweet spirit has left an imprint in everyone's heart and soul and will be forever missed. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe Ave at Watt St. with Fr. M. Winn officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olga's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Resources, the ALS Society or a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank special friends and neighbours, Helen, George and Mary G. and Omie. Thank you to the Home Care staff for taking such good care of her, especially Stella for always making Mom laugh. She truly cherished your brief friendship. To her friends in the apartment complex, for looking in on her and always making sure there was homemade soup in her fridge, we thank you. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So He closed His arms around you And whispered, Come to Me. You didn't deserve what you went through So He took you home to rest, God's Garden must be beautiful For He only takes the best. • We're so sorry to hear of Ollie's passing. As her neighbours for seven years, we appreciated her warmth and ever present smile, as well as her generous spirit. She treated our children as if they were her own grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat, Mike, and their families. The Penner's - Posted by: Wendell Penner (Friend) on: Jul 16, 2008
